WEST TOWN — The Chicago Book & Paper Fair will bring thousands of rare and first edition books to West Town on Saturday.
The 53rd annual fair runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Chicago Journeyman Plumbers Union Hall, 1340 W. Washington Blvd., Chicago. Dozens of Midwest booksellers are exhibiting at the fair, offering collectible books, maps and prints.
Rare books finds at the fair will include:
• A 1913 first edition of "A Boy's Will," signed by poet Robert Frost
• An 1895 first printing, first edition of "The King in Yellow," referenced in the HBO series "True Detective," by author Robert Chambers
• An 1872 first edition in original cloth of "Expression of the Emotions in Animals and Man," by evolutionist Charles Darwin
• A 1970 first edition of "Deliverance," the book that inspired the 1972 movie, signed by author James Dickey
Admission is $6 at the door and $4 for students. Free parking is offered on site, according to organizers.
The event is presented by the Midwest Antiquarian Booksellers Association.
