Police Release Photo of Truck Suspected of Hitting Cyclist on Ashland

CHICAGO — Police have released a photo of the white semi-truck that police said struck a man and drove off Tuesday afternoon.

The incident happened around 4:25 p.m. Tuesday in the 3600 block of South Ashland Avenue in McKinley Park, according to police. 

A semi-truck heading southbound on Ashland Avenue struck the man, 47, as he rode a bike and then drove off, police said.

The man is in critical condition after being taken to Stroger Hospital.

Police are looking for the semi-truck driver who is described as a white man in his 30s with a slender build. He has blonde hair and a short, clean-cut beard.

Police is urging anyone with information to call detectives at 312-745-4521.
