CHICAGO — Four people charged with stealing more than $400,000 in watches from a high-end retailer in the Gold Coast Saturday were each ordered held on $100,000 bail Thursday.
The four went to the jewelry store instide a Bentley dealership in the 800 block of North Rush Street around 12:30 p.m., prosecutors said at a bond hearing Thursday.
The four stood next to a glass case, and the two men pried open the glass front while the women served as lookouts, prosecutors said. The men took seven watches, including two Rolexes, from the case.
The four escaped in a silver minivan, police said, but a witness spotted their license plate, officials said, and the four were later arrested.
Those charged include:
• Anna Straus, 35, of the 3400 block of North Rutherford Avenue in Schorcsh Village. She was charged with unauthorized control of $100,000-$500,000 and burglary, a felony.
Her attorney said in court Thursday that she was "very pregnant" and at a Northwest Side hospital.
• Glowacka Xagnieska, 36, of the 3400 block of North Rutherford Avenue. She was charged with unauthorized control of $100,000-$500,000 and burglary, a felony.
•Damian Dutilow, 41, of the 4200 block of West Wrightwood Avenue in Belmont Gardens. He was also charged with unauthorized control of $100,000- 500,000 and burglary, a felony.
• Ian Kowolski, 50, of an unknown address was charged with unauthorized control of $100,000-$500,000 and burglary, a felony.
Andrzej Debinsk, 31, of the 3600 block of North Sayre Avenue in Dunning, was at Straus' house at the time the women were arrested and was charged with a felony for carrying a fraudulent ID. He was given a $20,000 bail.
