LAKEVIEW — If you dine out this Thursday, a portion of your bill could help support LGBT rights in Illinois.

Equality Illinois, a longstanding LGBT nonprofit based in Lakeview, is hosting its sixth annual "Dining Out for Equality" event. Ten North Side restaurants have agreed to donate either 25 percent of the night's sales or $600 to the group.

Director of development Michael Nordman said offering two donation tiers allows smaller restaurants to participate.

Any money raised will support Equality Illinois' ongoing work, which includes advocating for a ban on ex-gay conversion therapy, pushing for employment protections for LGBT residents and registering voters to increase voter turnout.

This year's restaurants include:

• HB Home Bistro, 3404 N. Halsted St.
• Lady Gregory’s, 5260 N. Clark St.
• mEAT Streeterville, 215 E. Chestnut St.
• Spritz Burger, 3819 N. Broadway
• Wilde, 3130 N. Broadway
• Hamburger Mary’s, 5400 N. Clark St.
• Halsted’s, 3441 N. Halsted St.
• Broadway Cellars, 5900 N. Broadway
• Ceres' Table, 3124 N. Broadway
• Las Mañanitas, 3523 N. Halsted St.

Anyone who wants to participate is encouraged to make a reservation and mention "Dining Out for Equality" at the restaurant.
