BACK OF THE YARDS — Thieves are targeting women in brazen daytime street robberies, authorities said.
Two men have approached female victims "and by means of physical force take their property," according to a community alert issued by police.
The incidents took place Sept. 19 about 2:15 p.m. in the 4700 block of South Aberdeen Street and again on Sept. 24 about 11:35 a.m. in the 4800 block of South Halsted Street, police said.
The attackers were described as two black men, about 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing about 165 pounds.
