PORTAGE PARK — For Chicagoans who don't know where Jefferson Park ends and Gladstone Park begins, "The Chicago 77: A Community Area Handbook" by Mary Zangs offers answers — and a chance to avoid embarrassment.

Zangs will discuss her book at 1 p.m. Saturday at City Newsstand, 4018 N. Cicero Ave., in an event sponsored by the Old Irving Park Association, Forgotten Chicago, the Northwest Chicago Historical Society and the Portage Park Neighborhood Association.

The city's 77 official community areas include more than 200 neighborhoods, which can test the memory of even the fiercest lover of Chicago, according to Zangs' book.

The Chicago Architecture Foundation praised the book as "both an entertaining adventure and a methodical survey."
