CHICAGO — A Forest Glen bungalow "that has been rehabbed from top to bottom without losing its charm" is on the market for $699,900, according to Baird and Warner's Ginda Purdy.
The home at 6550 N. Ponchartrain Blvd. has six bedrooms, 4½ bathrooms and both original and modern features throughout, according to Purdy.
The living room is large, featuring original stained glass windows alongside new windows, crown molding and floor trim. A separate dining room is attached; it has many of the same features, according to Purdy.
The home has a gourmet kitchen outfitted with a 10-foot-by-4-foot island with a Carerra marble countertop, maple cabinets with black antique crown molding, granite counters and a handmade Spanish ceramic and brick backsplash, among other features.
All of the bathrooms, Purdy says, have new copper plumbing, Toto toilets and new stacks.
There is a large family room and entertaining area in the basement as well as two full bathrooms, two large bedrooms, five closets and a lot of storage space.
New owners won't have to wait for hot water, Purdy says, as the home comes with a high efficiency hot water heater with a circulating pump.
The home is within walking distance of downtown Edgebrook, the Metra and parks, according to Purdy.
The neighborhood schools are Wildwood Elementary School and Taft High School.
