CHICAGO — A fire on the West Side produced billows of gray smoke that was visible from miles away, catching the eyes of commuters on their way to work Tuesday morning in the Loop.

The fire began in a commercial building in the 4000 block of West Ogden Avenue in Lawndale early Tuesday morning, according to the Chicago Fire Department. The building housed a recording studio on the first floor and a banquet hall on the second floor, the Fire Department said.

No one was injured in the three-alarm fire, according to the Fire Department.
