Things You Can Do in Lincoln Park and Old Town This Weekend

Friday

Metronomy at Lincoln Hall, 2424 N. Lincoln Ave., 10 p.m.

East London's Metronomy and Dawn Golden perform Friday at Lincoln Hall. Tickets to the 18-and-over show are $20.

Lions, Tigers and Brews at Lincoln Park Zoo, 2001 N. Clark St., 7-11 p.m.

This unique craft beer festival allows you to enjoy 75 craft beers and food from food trucks while exploring the zoo's exhibits and gardens. VIP access begins at 6 p.m. General admission begins at 7 p.m. General admission tickets are $49 and VIP tickets are $89. Tickets for your designated driver are $19.

Saturday

Second Saturday at the Chicago History Museum, 1601 N. Clark St., 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

Every second Saturday drop by the museum as it highlights a different activity cart for families to learn with. This month's second Saturday is focused on artifacts allowing patrons to touch, look and discuss things from Chicago's past. The cost is included in museum admission. Children under 12 are always free at the museum.

Sheffield Stroll at Chicago History Museum, 1601 N. Clark St., 2 p.m.

Learn the history of the Sheffield DePaul area by strolling through the architecture and Hollywood film sites. Meet at the street level "L" entrance. Walking tours are two hours long. Tickets are $20, $15 for museum members.

Sunday

The Fifth Annual Bacon Takedown at Lincoln Hall, 2424 N. Lincoln Ave., 2 p.m.

Mmm ... bacon! Local chefs have cooked up 20 delicious recipes to make your mouth water like Homer Simpson. Tickets to the festival of bacon are $20 and you must be at least 21 to attend.

Chicago's Bloody Mary Competition at Park West, 322 W. Armitage Ave., 11 a.m.

Enjoy Sunday Funday's "Most Valuable Drink," the bloody Mary with an afternoon trip to Park West. Attendees can sample bloodies from different restaurants across the city then cast their vote for best bloody by display, taste and overall presentation. The competition is from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and you must be 21 or older to participate. Tickets are $35.
