Senior Games Kick Off in the Parks with Pickle Ball Competition Tuesday

HYDE PARK — Chicago seniors will go for the gold in track and field, shuffleboard and line dancing starting on Tuesday.

The annual Senior Games will kick off on Tuesday, a 2½-week event of friendly competition for seniors by the Chicago Park District at parks across the city.

The opening ceremonies for the Games, which will include a luncheon and dance, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at 63rd Street Beach, 6300 S. Lake Shore Drive.

After the dance, the pickle ball competition will launch at 1:30 p.m. in Washington Park, 5531 S. Martin Luther King Drive.

Events, including swimming at Welles Park, track and field at Jackson Park and table tennis at Washington Park, continue through Sept. 28.
