CHICAGO — A cab driver was stabbed during a robbery in Back of the Yards early Thursday.

Around 12:05 a.m., the 33-year-old cab driver was flagged down by a man in the 5500 block of South Peoria Street, said Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago police spokeswoman.

When the man approached the cab he stabbed the driver in his arm and took the driver's cellphone before fleeing, Pacheco said.

The cab driver was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition stabilized, she said.

No one is in custody for the incident.
