CHICAGO —  A 17-year-old boy was fatally shot in Little Village in a gang-related shooting Sunday morning.

Around 6 a.m., the boy was talking with friends in the 2200 block of South Marshall Boulevard, when two armed men approached and shouted gang slogans before opening fire.

The boy was struck in his chest and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, where he was later pronounced dead, said Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago police spokeswoman.

According to the Cook County Medical Examiner, the boy was 16. He was identified as Victor Martinon, of the 2300 block of South Trumbull Avenue.

No one is in custody for the shooting.
