Things to Do in Lincoln Park and Old Town This Weekend

OK Go at Lincoln Hall, 2424 N. Lincoln Ave., 9 p.m.

WKQX-FM (101.1) welcomes OK Go, "the world's most creative band" to the Lincoln Hall Stage Friday. The infectious band is adding more sounds to their creative song list with their fourth album "Hungry Ghosts" due out in October. Tickets to the 17-and-over show are $22.

Lil' Ed and the Blues Imperials at Chicago B.L.U.E.S. Bar, 2519 N. Halsted St., 9:30 p.m.

Head to one of the premier blues bars on the North Side for a performance by Lil' Ed and the Blues Imperials. They released six Alligator albums between 1989 and 2008, with each further bolstering the group's national recognition. Doors open at 8 p.m.

Sleep Under the Skyscrapers at Lincoln Park Zoo, 2001 N. Clark St., 7 p.m.

Pitch the tents and prepare your campsite for an all night adventure with the critters of Lincoln Park Zoo. Campouts are rain-or-shine and will be moved inside if weather is inclement. Evening encounter tickets (from 7-10:30 p.m.) are $40, $34 for zoo members. Full Overnight camping (from 7 p.m.-8:30 a.m.) is $65, $55 for zoo members and includes evening and morning activities, s'mores and breakfast. Tents are available to rent for $10.

Saturday

Charles Esten at Joe's on Weed Street, 940 W. Weed St.

If you're a fan of ABC's "Nashville" don't miss Charles Esten a.k.a. Deacon as he performs with Sixwire at Joe's. The Pittsburgh native toured as Buddy Holly in the musical "Buddy," which got him his first role on the British version of "Whose Line is it Anyway." Tickets to the show are $25.

Moonrise Nation at Lincoln Hall, 2424 N. Lincoln Ave., 10 p.m.

Moonrise Nation crafts songs with meaningful lyrics anchored in alternative folk. They'll perform their new EP along with Jamie Lono & Noble Heart. Tickets to the 18-and-over show are $12.

Tim Fite at the Tonic Room, 2447 N. Halsted Avenue, 8:30 p.m.

Tim Fite has been called "one of rock n' roll's most subversive renaissance men." Kory Quinn will also perform Saturday for a 21-and-over crowd. Tickets for the show are $10. Doors open at 8 p.m.
