"Despicable Me 2" will hit the outdoor screen Thursday night at Hamlin Park, 3035 N. Hoyne Ave. Evil genius Gru is back in this animated feature, originally released in 2013.
The movie starts at 8 p.m., but bring the kids early for the pre-party, which kicks off at 6 p.m. Pack a picnic or take advantage of the grilled food, beverages on popcorn for sale on site. Jahn Elementary School's band will perform at 7 p.m.
It's not too soon to make plans to attend Midnight Circus in the Parks at Hamlin Park, Sept. 20-21. Tickets are $15 for children, $20 for adults and can be purchased online.
