LINCOLN SQUARE — Not even Thurston Howell III could buy his way onto the S.S. Craft Beer Boat, scheduled to set sail from Burnham Harbor on Aug. 27.
That's because tickets for the four-hour cruise are actually free. But there's a catch: Passes are only available via a series of raffles being held at bars across the city. None are for sale.
To snag a coveted seat, head to the rooftop bar at Fountainhead, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, 1970 W. Montrose Ave., or stop by Rockwell's Neighborhood Grill, 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., Aug. 21, 4632 N. Rockwell St.
Entering the drawing is ridiculously easy: Just buy one (or more) of the featured beers on tap, get a raffle ticket in return. Winners will be chosen midway through each event and again at the end of the night.
Once on board the Craft Beer Boat, which will chart a course around Lake Michigan from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., ticketholders will have access to bottomless free beer from the event's hosts: Artisanal Imports, Allagash Brewing Company and Surly Brewing.
