CHICAGO — Brown Line service will be stopped between the Kimball and Western stations over the weekend.
Service will be suspended from 2 a.m. Saturday to 4 a.m. Monday, with regular trains continuing between Western and the Loop. Free buses will shuttle travelers between the suspended stations.
Other trains will operate every 10 minutes during "peak travel times" to help customers attending weekend events like the Air and Water Show and Albany Park World Festival, the CTA said.
The CTA said travelers should expect 15-20 extra minutes of travel time.
The suspension is part of construction on the Brown Line. The CTA is replacing wooden rail ties and other parts of the track to "create a smoother, more reliable ride for customers," according to a news release.
