HYDE PARK — The Hyde Park Historical Society is asking the community to tell the history of the neighborhood from their perspective.

For the seventh year, the historical society will record videos of Hyde Parker’s talking about their recollections of neighborhood for the oral history project, “Hyde Park-Kenwood Stories.”

The volunteers, who will be at Montgomery Place, 5550 S. South Shore Drive, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 17, are looking for stories about parks ranging from the construction of Cornell Drive through Jackson Park to the city’s bid for the 2016 Olympics.

Participants are being asked to RSVP by Aug. 15 by calling Lala Rodgers at 773-401-0474 e-mailing hporalhistory@gmail.com.
