CHICAGO — Two teenagers, 17 and 19, were wounded in daytime shootings in the city Monday.

The latest shooting occurred in the 6100 block of South Throop Street at 1:50 p.m., said Officer Veejay Zala, a police spokesman.

A 17-year-old boy was grazed in the side of his face and taken to Stroger Hospital, where he is in stable condition.

Earlier, a 19-year-old man was shot in Near West Side Monday afternoon, police said.

The incident occurred in the 700 block of South Western Avenue about 12:30 p.m., according to Officer Thomas Sweeney, a police spokesman.

Suffering both head trauma and a bullet wound in his elbow, the man was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition.
