HYDE PARK — Parks on the south lakefront will be inundated with Shakespearean actors for the remainder of the summer.
The Chicago Shakespeare Theater will hold two performances of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” on Sunday at Washington Park, 5531 S. Russell Drive, and Aug. 14 at the South Shore Cultural Center, 7059 S. South Shore Drive.
Both performances start at 6:30 p.m. and are free and open to the public.
The Spectralia Theater will perform “Two Gentlemen of Verona” at 5 p.m. Aug. 2 at the music court in Jackson Park just south of the Museum of Science and Industry, 5700 S. Lake Shore Drive.
The play is also free and presented as part of the annual Wooded Island Festival, a celebration of Jackson Park.
