CHICAGO — A 33-year-old West Town man died after being shot in his stomach during a drive-by in Chicago Lawn Tuesday morning, authorities said.
The man was standing on the sidewalk in the 6300 block of South Francisco Avenue around 2 a.m. Tuesday when an SUV drove by and someone from inside fired shots, police said.
The man, who has gang ties, was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center.
Police initially said he was in stable condition, but he was pronounced dead at 10:16 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
The man was identified as Sam Aguilar of the 1500 block of West Walton Street.
