ROSCOE VILLAGE — Chicago missed out on hosting the 2016 Summer Olympics, but a different kind of torch relay is passing through the city Monday.

More than 100 countries are participating in the 2014 Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run global relay. North America's team of runners will stop in Roscoe Village with their torch tonight — the group hit the road back in April and has been working its way across the United States, Canada and Mexico ever since.

Meet the runners, hold the torch and enjoy a performance by the South Shore Drill Team at 6 p.m. at Audubon Elementary, 3500 N. Hoyne Ave.

Victory's Banner bookstore and art gallery, 2135 W. Roscoe St., will host a reception after the Audubon event.

The Peace Run was founded in 1987 and aims to create goodwill among people around the world.
