Austin Shooting Kills Man, 30

CHICAGO — A 30-year-old man was shot dead in Austin early Saturday.

The shooting happened around 3 a.m. in the 0-100 block of North Laramie Avenue, said Officer Jose Estrada, a police spokesman. 

Police found the man unresponsive with gun shot wounds in his back in the driver's seat of a parked car. He was pronounced dead on the scene, police said.

The man is a documented gang member, and the shooting may have been gang-related, police said.

The man was identified as Brandon Wilson, of the 0-100 block of North Latrobe Avenue, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
