'Institutionalized' Art Exhibit Opens at Harold Washington College

THE LOOP — The latest exhibition at Harold Washington College's President's Gallery, "Institutions," explores every possible meaning of the word, "from mental health institutions to the frameworks around consumer culture," according to a release.

Artists Robert Ives, Matt Bodett, Edwin Parker, Gabrielle Jensen, David Merrick and Yatsu Sada explore the theme through photography, sculpture, drawing, printmaking, collage and text-based works.

The free showcase, open to the public from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, launched Tuesday and runs through Aug. 28.

Harold Washington College and its interior art gallery is located at 30 E. Lake St.
