West Pullman Shooting Leaves Man Dead

CHICAGO — A 23-year-old man died after being shot in West Pullman Sunday night.

Around 9:05 p.m. Sunday, the man was standing on a corner in the 300 block of West 116th Street in West Pullman. He was struck in his chest and taken in critical condition to Advocate Christ Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, said Officer Hector Alfaro, a police spokesman.

Schiquille Salter, 23, who lived on the block where he was shot was pronounced dead at the hospital at 9:54 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

No one is in custody for the shooting.
