CHICAGO — A 44-year-old woman was fatally shot overnight in Morgan Park.
The woman was leaning on a car in a vacant lot in the 10900 block of South Throop Avenue when someone opened fire.
The woman was struck in her left arm and the left side of her body and pronounced dead at the scene, said Officer Hector Alfaro, a police spokesman.
The woman, identified as Tonya Gunn, was pronounced dead at 1:15 a.m. Monday, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
No one is in custody for the shooting.
