Two Suburban Teens Shot May Have Been Mistaken as Gang Members, Police Say

CHICAGO — Two suburban teenage boys who were shot in West Englewood early Saturday may have been mistaken as gang members, police said.

The shooting occurred in the 5800 block of South Laflin Street about 1 a.m., according to police.

The two boys, 16 and 17, were in a car when someone shot in their direction, police said. 

The younger boy was shot in his shoulder and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where he is in good condition.

The other boy was shot in his arm and is in good condition at St. Bernard Hospital.
