West Englewood Shooting Kills Two Men

CHICAGO — Two men died after being wounded in a West Englewood shooting early Friday.

The men were standing outside a business in the 2000 block of West 63rd Street when a black car pulled up and someone started shooting about 2:30 a.m., said Officer Ron Gaines, a police spokesman.

Corey Hudson, 34, of the 6500 block of South Bell Avenue, was shot and pronounced dead on the scene at 3:02 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

A second man, 35, was shot and taken in critical condition to Stroger Hospital, police said.

Robert Cotton, of Evergreen Park, was pronounced dead 4:45 a.m. Sunday at Stroger Hospital, medical examiners said.
