CHICAGO — Military veterans are invited to meet and mingle with Comcast employees at a Comcast job fair and open house on Wednesday.

The global media and technology company believes that "as a veteran, you have something special to offer: dedication perseverance, hands-on problem solving skills and uncommon drive," according to a statement on the company's website.

"Now that you are home, you want a career with a real future," according to the statement. "We are committed to making that happen."

The event will be held at 3:30 p.m. at 454 N. Columbus Drive, and is part of the "Hiring Our Heroes" program put on by the United States Chamber of Commerce. Since 2012, the program has hired more than 2,600 veterans, according to a press release.

At the job fair, veterans will learn about career opportunities at the company's various outlets including Comcast Cable, Comcast Spotlight, NBC5 Chicago and Telemundo. Comcast recruiters will be in attendance, providing resume writing tips and guidance related to searching for a job after returning home from service.
