HYDE PARK — Daniel Levine will read from his new book, “Hyde,” at the Seminary Cooperative Bookstore on Friday.

“Hyde” is a retelling of the Robert Louis Stevenson horror story about Dr. Jekyll, a scientist who creates an elixir that births an evil alternate identity. Levine approaches the classic story from the perspective of the alternate identity of Hyde.

Levine will read selections from the book and sign copies starting at 6 p.m. at the bookstore at 5751 S. Woodlawn Ave.
