Metra Train Strikes Person in Gresham

CHICAGO — One person is in critical condition after hit by a Metra train in Gresham Thursday afternoon.

The train, which departed Downtown at 3:50, hit the person near 90th Street and Hermitage Avenue, officials said. The person, who age and gender were unknown, was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in critical condition.

Metra service was delayed as crews worked on the scene, but were running by 5:10, said Meg Riley, Metra spokeswoman.
