CHICAGO — Four people, including a 17-year-old, were wounded in daytime shootings Wednesday, police said.
The latest shooting occurred in the 3900 block of South Lake Park Avenue at 4 p.m., police said. A 17-year-old, who has gang affiliations, was shot in his arm in the Bronzeville incident.
He was self-transported to Mercy Hospital and Medical Center.
In Austin at 12:48 p.m., a 23-year-old man was shot in his knee while in the 4800 block of West Augusta Boulevard, police said. That man was taken to St. Mary's Hospital, police said.
In Fuller Park, a 28-year-old man was shot in his hip at 10:05 a.m. while he was in the 4700 block of South Shields Avenue, said Officer Jose Estrada, a police spokesman. The wounded man was taken to Stroger Hospital.
Three minutes earlier in the same neighborhood, a 32-year-old man was shot in his stomach while he was in the 4400 block of South Princeton Avenue, Estrada said.
He initially walked into Provident Hospital before he was transferred to Stroger.
