CHICAGO — A South Side man has been charged with two carjackings and a robbery in Streeterville over a three-day period in May, police said.

Police said Joe Jackson, 24, of the 6800 block of South Calumet Avenue pointed a gun at a 31-year-old man and forced him out of his car in a Streeterville parking garage in the 300 block of East Illinois Avenue at 8:30 a.m. on May 12. Jackson then drove off in the man's car.

Jackson was charged with vehicular hijacking with a firearm and violating parole for the incident. A second man Demetris McCrea, 23, of Gresham had already been charged with the crime.

Police say Jackson also took a car from a 31-year-old man and 31-year-old woman two days earlier. Around 7:28 p.m. on May 10, Jackson forced the two out of their car in the 400 block of North McClurg Court at gun point and took their car, police said.

The next day Jackson robbed a 39-year-old man in the 500 block of North McClurg Court around 9:20 a.m., police said.

Jackson is expected in court Monday.
