Two Shot, One Fatally, Near Museum of Science & Industry

CHICAGO — Two people have been shot, one fatally, near the Museum of Science & Industry, police said.

The shooting occurred in the 5600 block of South Everett Drive, just north of the museum, at 7:21 p.m., said Officer Stacey Cooper, a police spokeswoman.

A man was shot in the Iowa Building, a field house structure on the northeast side of Jackson Park, just off Lake Shore Drive.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's office identified the victim as 34-year-old Ovadiyah Chandler.

The museum was closed at the time of the shooting, a museum official said.
