CHICAGO — Police have released additional information about a string of home invasions that have occurred on the Far North and Northwest sides.

The home invasions occurred June 16 at 1:05 p.m. in the 6300 block of North Lowell Avenue in Sauganash and in the 6600 block of North California Avenue in West Rogers Park at 4:07 a.m. on June 19.

Earlier, police linked another home invasion in the 5800 block of North Jersey Avenue at 9:50 p.m. on June 7 to the Lowell Avenue incident.

On Saturday, police said the home invasions were perpetrated by three or four Hispanic men in their mid-20s. Previously, police said they were looking for three or four black men. The newly released community alert says the men are between 5-foot-7 and 6-foot-3, weighing between 180 and 240 pounds.

In the most recent home invasions, the men said they were police officers and were looking for someone. In one incident, they wore ski masks; in the other, they wore hooded sweatshirts and hats.

In the incidents on Lowell and North Jersey avenues, the men were armed with a handgun, and forced their way into a home. One of the men fired a gun during one of the incidents.

A 28-year-old woman was in the home at the time of Thursday's incident. The men briefly rummaged through her belongings before fleeing the home, police said. No injuries were reported, and nothing was taken.
