CHICAGO — A shooting in Marquette Park Thursday left a 19-year-old man dead, police said.
The man was shot in the face and torso in the 2800 block of West 71st Street about 4:50, said Officer Ana Pacheco, a police spokeswoman.
He was taken to Holy Cross Hospital, and was pronounced ead at 5:37 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
Officials there said the man was 18-years-old. He was identified as Damarcus Boswell, of the 3300 block of East 65th Street.
Area Central detectives are investigating, and authorities said the victim was a documented gang member.
