CHICAGO — A 20-year-old man was shot Wednesday night in the backyard of his Brainerd home.

Police said the man was walking into his backyard in the 9200 block of South Ada Street around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday when a man fired shots at him, striking him in his face twice. The man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn  in stable condition, said Officer Hector Alfaro, a police spokesman.

No one was vin custody for the shooting and detectives were investigating, Alfaro said.
