West Garfield Park Shooting Leaves Man, 30, Dead

CHICAGO — A 30-year-old man was pronounced dead minutes after he was shot in West Garfield Park Tuesday.

The shooting occurred around 4:45 p.m. Tuesday in the 3900 block of West Washington Boulevard. The man, who was shot in his head, was taken to Stroger hospital in critical condition, where he later died, said Officer Michael Sullivan, a police spokesman.

Daniel Jones, 30, of the 4100 block of West Wolcott Street, was pronounced dead at 5:22 p.m. Tuesday, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

No one is in custody for the shooting.
