NORTH PARK — Residents of the Northwest Side are on alert after home invasions barely a week apart in the North Park and Forest Glen neighborhoods.

Police have issued a warning regarding the pair of incidents, which occurred about 9:50 p.m. June 7 in the 5800 block of North Jersey Avenue, and about 1:05 p.m. Monday in the the 6300 block of North Lowell Avenue.

Both of the home invasions involved two or three people armed with handguns forcing their way into the victims' homes and searching the houses.

Shots were fired during one of the incidents. In the other, the gunmen impersonated police officers and claimed they were looking for someone.

Police described the three suspects as black men standing 5-feet-7, weighing 150 pounds and wearing ski masks or hooded sweatshirts pulled tight.

Residents are urged to report any suspicious individuals or vehicles to police at 312-744-8263.
