CHICAGO — A Washington Heights woman is being charged with the murder of her uncle after police said she fatally stabbed him at her home on Father's Day.

Takia Lanza, 39, of the 10400 block of South Morgan Avenue, is facing one count of first-degree murder for stabbing her 56-year-old uncle to death, police said in a statement.

Police were called to the 10400 block of South Michigan Avenue about 9:15 p.m. Sunday and found Louis Winn, 56, stabbed in his chest. Police said Lanza stabbed Winn after an argument.

Winn, of the 1000 block of South Morgan Street, was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where he was pronounced dead just after 10 p.m. Sunday, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

Lanza is expected to appear in bond court Tuesday afternoon, police said.
