RIVER NORTH — Chicago artist Zack Wirsum will discuss his mixed-media paintings with fellow artist, art critic and local Erik Wenzel at the Jean Albano Gallery Thursday at 6 p.m.

The conversation coincides with an exhibition of Wirsum's work at the gallery at 215 W. Superior St., which runs through June 27. The Thursday evening conversation is free to the public.

"The majority of my work deals with my relationship to the city as an organism," Wirsum says in his artist statement.

The gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and by appointment. Call 312-440-0770 to schedule a visit.
