DOUGLAS PARK — Lagunitas Brewery will finally open the doors to its taproom to the public on June 25, officials said.

The brewery first announced the new date on social media last week. Officials also confirmed the date in a written statement Tuesday.

"We have some Hoops to Jump Through and after that it looks like we can serve beers to Chicago from our Taproom Starting JUNE 25th 2014. Cheers to that on this Full Mooned Friday the 13th," Lagunitas posted on Facebook Friday.

Originally set to open Wednesday, the taproom's public opening was delayed while the brewery waited on a final occupancy permit from the city.

Lagunitas taproom — housed inside the brewery at 15th and Rockwell streets — will seat close to 300 at the bar and plenty of windows that overlook the 300,000-square-foot brewery, according to Karen Hamilton, Lagunitas director of regional marketing.

Menu items will include a "Wurst of the Day" — in honor of the German workers who live at the ''Embassy'' across the street — in addition to beer-flavored bread and desserts.
