Boy, 17, Charged With Trying to Kill Another Boy in Englewood

CHICAGO — A 17-year-old boy is charged with trying to kill another boy in a daytime shooting Wednesday in Englewood.

The injured boy, 17, was shot in his right shoulder at 2:55 p.m. while he was outside in the 7200 block of South Union Avenue, police said.

Another teenager, who police are not naming due to his age, was identified as the gunman. He was charged with attempted first-degree murder and aggravated battery.

He is due in court Saturday.
