Ashland Orange Line Station Reopened After Man Fatally Hit by Train

CHICAGO — A 59-year-old man was killed Tuesday morning after being hit by an "L" train at the Ashland Orange Line Station.

The incident occurred at 8:40 a.m. in the 3000 block of South Ashland Avenue, police said. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The CTA provided shuttle service until 10:50 a.m., when the station was reopened.
