CHICAGO — One person was killed and four others were shot Monday night across the city's South and West sides.

Most recently, a 35-year-old man was shot about 11:30 p.m. Monday in Auburn Gresham.

The man was walking in the 7700 block of South Peoria Street when he heard gunshots and felt pain, said Officer Ron Gaines, a police spokesman.

The 35-year-old had been shot in his leg. He was taken to St. Bernard Hospital where he was listed in good condition, Gaines said.

About 10:50 p.m. Monday, a 27-year-old man walked into Holy Cross Hospital with gunshot wounds in his arm and leg.

The man had been shot in the 1800 block of West 58th Street, but police did not immediately have details surrounding the shooting.

About the same time, a woman was killed and a man was injured in a drive-by shooting in the Park Manor neighborhood.

The woman, who was later identified as Paris Brown, was sitting in a parked vehicle with the man when a dark-colored SUV pulled up alongside them and opened fire, police said.

Brown was shot in her back and was taken to Stroger Hospital where she was pronounced dead at 11:25 p.m. The man was shot in his back and leg and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.

About 11:15 p.m., a 21-year-old man was shot in East Garfield Park. The man was shot in his back in the 3100 block of West Monroe Street, Gaines said. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital by a friend.

Police could not provide details about the shooting, saying the 21-year-old was unable to tell officers what had happened.
