CHICAGO — A 23-year-old man is in critical condition after he was shot Monday afternoon in West Englewood, police said.

The incident occurred at 12:35 p.m. in the 6700 block of South Marshfield Avenue. Three men approached the man and one fired at him several times.

Shot in his torso, the man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in critical condition.

He is a documented gang member.

The shooting follows a morning "domestic" shooting in Ashburn in which five people were shot, three fatally, including a man with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
