CHICAGO — Residents can get their bikes ready for summer riding and then enjoy a potluck with Friends of the Bloomingdale Trail at a Saturday event.

Participants can bring their bikes or borrow one for a kids' bike rodeo, and there will be a mini tune-up station and workshops on changing flat tires, among other skills, from West Town Bikes.

The event is part of the Trail Mix Family Events and Conversations event series held by the The 606 elevated park and trail. Known as the Bloomingdale Trail, the path is still under construction, so the event will be held from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at the McCormick Tribune YMCA, 1834 N. Lawndale Ave.

Those who contribute a dish to the potluck will be entered in a raffle to win prizes from businesses along The 606.
