Englewood Man Who Shot at Police Charged With Attempted Murder, Police Say

CHICAGO — An Englewood man was charged with attempted murder after he opened fire at two Chicago Police officers Wednesday, police said.

Elijah Williams, 20, of the 1100 block of West Marquette Road was charged with two counts of attempted murder, two felony counts of aggravated assault and one felony count of unlawful use of a weapon after he was identified as the man who fired shots at two officers in the 2000 block of West 68th Street in Englewood.

The shooting occurred around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, police said.

A gun was recovered at the scene and no injuries were reported.
