BOYSTOWN — Youth and transgender health concerns will take center stage this month as the Howard Brown Health Center wraps up its series of town-hall meetings.

The series — which kicked off in May with sessions on older adults and queer women — lets community members interact with Howard Brown staffers, including new president David Ernesto Munar.

"It's about us listening to our constituents ... and really understanding what the community is looking for," spokeswoman Barbara Tieder said.

Howard Brown, which specializes in LGBT-focused health care, might tweak or add programs based on the meetings, Tieder said.

The final two sessions will take place at the Brown Elephant, 3651 N. Halsted St., from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Transgender concerns will be addressed on Monday, and a session on LGBT youth under 24 takes place on June 16.

Anyone who can't attend can participate on social media with the hashtag #HBHCTownHalls.
