HUMBOLDT PARK — Neighborhood bar Sportsman's Club will team up with Publican Quality Meats and Solemn Oath Brewery to launch its summer BBQ series Sunday.
Sportsman's Club, 948 N. Western Ave., opened in December and will pair each backyard BBQ installment with brewery and a featured chef in Chicago, who is also a Sportsman's Club regular.
Sunday's inaugural installment will celebrate chef Cosmo Goss' Santa Barbara, roots, with the preparation of Santa Maria-style tri-tip along with pickled green tomato pico de gallo, baked beans, and bolillo rolls. Solemn Oath Brewery will provide the beer for the kickoff event.
Tickets for the event will cost $20 for a plate of BBQ, a beer, and a shot of whiskey. The BBQ will take place from 4 p.m. until supplies run out.
The next installment will feature Trenchermen executive chef Pat Sheerin.
