Englewood Festivals Kick Off Saturday

ENGLEWOOD — As a way to keep residents positively engaged and safe for the summer, the Resident Association of Greater Englewood is sponsoring a series of free, outdoor festivals.

Its annual "So Fresh Saturdays" begins Saturday from 3-8 p.m. in Hermitage Park, 5839 S. Wood St., and is part of the Chicago Park District's Night Out in the Parks.

So Fresh is a community event that provides food, music and family entertainment while showcasing various artistic expressions and educational workshops that focuses on youths, entrepreneurship, hip hop, media, social networks, community activism, and culturally relevant history through music, film and art, said Asiaha Butler, president of RAGE.

So Fresh Saturdays run from 3-8 p.m. and the remaining dates are June 21, Sherwood Park, 5701 S. Shields Ave; July 12, Lindblom Park, 6054 S. Damen Ave; Aug. 2, Ogden Park, 6500 S. Racine Ave; and Aug. 30, Hamilton Park, 513 W. 72nd St.
